“New wave that surrenders to surrealism” or Spirits of Saturn have a new release on the market – either could be the headline. With „Cindy Sherman“, they once again move gracefully through the indie new wave dance genre, creating a picture full of contradictory emotions. A song that oscillates between resignation and sarcasm while questioning social manipulation, disappointment, and the fragility of happiness.
The repeated question of happiness in connection with the weather suggests that emotions can be just as volatile as external circumstances—or that contentment is a form of repression. The lyrics are a bit different, breaking with what you’d expect and mixing up chaos with some deep thoughts. Instead of giving straightforward answers, it invites us to think about it. So, is happiness real, or is it just an illusion?
Ultimately, everything remains open – just like life itself. And so, the Spirits of Saturn dance through the streets again, leaving us amazed and satisfied. Satisfied, because life doesn’t always need an answer—just as great music doesn’t either!
