When two extraordinary musicians come together to unite past, present and future in a single work, something magical happens. This is exactly what Luke Tangerine and Kate Pending prove with their new album ‘Tomorrow’s Dreams of Yesterday’, which is available today. The ten tracks are snapshots of an era, captured in hypnotic soundscapes in which retro synths meet futuristic house vibes. With their first joint song Sonic Youth, which Ambitstream also contributed to, the two artists have already shown how seamlessly they can merge electronic genres. Tomorrow’s Dreams of Yesterday is all about taking a look to the past while also feeling pretty innovative.

The album kicks off with Gonzo Trip, which is like the doors to a neon-lit dreamscape opening up right in front of you. Retrofuturistic beats pulse like city lights reflecting on rain-soaked streets, while smooth vocals drift in like a warm breeze, promising a journey beyond expectation.
Ipanema Rendezvous is like golden sunlight spilling over ocean waves, a smooth mix of Latin American bossa nova and shimmering synth-pop. Its rhythms are like the gentle swing of palm trees in a coastal breeze, inviting the listener to step into a world that’s both nostalgic and fresh.
With ICU, the dancefloor becomes an electrified skyline—neon-streaked and intoxicating. The track locks its grip with a fusion of vintage synths and sleek modern sound design, much like stepping into a retro-futuristic metropolis where past and present intertwine in dazzling motion.
Right of Passage has a really comforting, warm feel to it, like the golden glow of candlelight in a dimly lit lounge. It’s like sinking into a well-worn leather armchair — timeless, inviting and effortlessly soothing.
Femme Fatale 007 is a seductive mystery—cold yet alluring, like the fleeting glance of a stranger across a smoky room. Its synth-wave essence comes across really well, and it’s impossible to forget. It’s a melancholic yet graceful farewell, and it’ll stick with you long after it’s finished.
Echoes is like the whisper of a dream, a ghostly presence that comes and goes as you drift in and out of consciousness. Kate Pending’s voice is like an echo in a huge, empty ballroom – delicate but you can’t forget it.
Pastlife Mix is all about the past and present meeting up again like old flames who’ve been apart for ages and are finally back together. Deep house elements meet hypnotic vocals, creating an atmosphere where nostalgia and innovation dance in perfect sync.
Lastly, Embers smolders like the final moments of a magnificent film—the embers of a fire fading into the night, glowing softly in the darkness. It’s a sad but elegant goodbye, one that stays with you long after it’s over.

With Tomorrow’s Dreams of Yesterday, Luke Tangerine and Kate Pending have created a work that unfolds not only through musical sophistication, but also through an irresistible depth between memories and dreams. ‘Tomorrow’s Dreams of Yesterday’ is an electrifying soundtrack for all those who look to the past while conquering the future.
