With Dream Bodies, Steven Fleet unveils a fascinating soundscape that unfolds like an artfully curated ritual between post-punk tradition and esoteric reflection. The debut EP Circle of Light is not just a mere musical litter but rather a deliberately staged space of passage – a “liminal space” – in which motifs of transcendence, memory and initiation overlap.
The focus is on the title track “Circle of Light”, a lyrically and compositionally charged climax that poeticizes the ambivalence of human existence through an occult vocabulary with lines such as “Death on your left and life on the right / Kneeling within a circle of light”.
