FiloFX Records – 28th January: ‘Too Cool’ – Alec La Roche

News:

‘Too Cool’ – Alec La Roche

Alec La Roche ignites with ‘Too Cool,’ an electro/French touch banger that sounds like Stevie Wonder and Daft Punk are heralding the future of new disco together. In exactly three minutes, a small funk firework display unfolds: shimmering synth layers, a bouncy, funky bass, plus effectively distorted vocals and casual backing lines that give the track an extra dose of coolness. What immediately stands out is the catchy, highly precise structure – every element is in place, every turn seems deliberately placed without breaking the flow. Here, La Roche combines his signature style of French house, disco and electronic warmth with the heart of a songwriter who comes from punk, funk and jazz. ‘Too Cool’ lives precisely in this space: danceable but emotional, smoothly produced but humanly pulsating. A track that not only makes the month funkier, but also shows what New Disco 2026 could sound like – playful, modern and full of joie de vivre.
