„We Had No Model“ by Prophet Mountains
Prophet Mountains is a musical duo that breaks the mold and challenges the status quo. „We Had No Model“, their debut album, is a bold declaration of who they are and where they want belong, a battle cry for the wanderers and dreamers, who search for their spot in the ever-changing world. Their sound can be described as a fusion of psychedelic and electronic pop music, inspired by a spectrum of artists, from Philip Glass to Funkadelic, from Nina Simone to My Bloody Valentine.
The name of the band comes from the Hebrew word Nabi, which also conjures up a visionary art movement that embraces artistic freedom and transcendence. The lyrics are intimate and healing, voicing a bitter and redeeming anger, a defiance of models and norms, a celebration of uncertainty and liberation.
From the dark and dismal days of 2015 to the bright and warm ones of 2023, it has been a long journey. Prophet Mountains‘ is a voyage from darkness to light, like a fuzzy picture that comes into focus gradually. Music that can be classified almost as a revelation. Amazing album by a fantastic band!
