„The Circus, Part 1“ – Arpraxis

Arpraxis has retreated back into his sound kitchen – and this time he’s turned up the heat. From the very first moment, The Circus, Part 1 bubbles like a cauldron about to boil over. As soon as the first beat kicks in, you feel catapulted back to the best days of Manchester raves: those nights when rhythm was religion. The synths shimmer, the percussion drives, and above it all is a slightly psychedelic glow that pulls the track through the room like a wandering play of light. Arpraxis knows how to build tension without ever losing control. The kick is dry and direct, the groove rolls like an endless tunnel, and the melodic fragments seem like little sparks flying out of the bubbling cauldron of his sound kitchen. The Circus, Part 1 feels like a rave circus slowly opening its arena – hypnotic, playful, but with a clear dramatic arc. What remains is a track that appeals to both veterans of the 90s scene and today’s ravers. A piece that shows how to transform the past rather than copy it. Arpraxis does not deliver a retro revival here, but a lively continuation of an era that never really disappeared.
