‘Disarray (Album)’ – MNTL

With Disarray, MNTL presents a debut that grows directly from within: not a concept album that hides behind effects, but a collection of tracks that translate vulnerability into movement while leaving room for reflection. Between deep house, slap house and emotionally driven dance, the Dane weaves club-ready energy with a palpable melancholy; the beats pull you in, the melodies stick in your head, and both feel honest. Guest vocals and already familiar singles such as Don’t Want To Lose This, Don’t Know Me and Fake ID add accents without fragmenting the album; rather, they fit into a coherent narrative that deals with inner tension and translates it into sound. MNTL, 27 and from Copenhagen, shows his talent for combining rhythmic drives with a melodic core idea — the result is danceable and emotionally charged at the same time. The production and arrangement are well thought out without becoming sterile; it’s allowed to remain raw in the right places, while elsewhere moments of fragility open up. Disarray is not a loud outburst, but a confident statement: a modern house album that combines club impulses and emotion.
