Why Can’t We Live Together – The Blue Book Project, Rogue FX

With “Why Can’t We Live Together”, The Blue Book Project and Rogue FX have delivered a collaboration that feels like a long-lost summer hit from the 90s, but whose subject matter is firmly rooted in the year 2026. The Italian producer has set himself a creative challenge: a complete track built exclusively on the Casio CX1x — a synth whose retro charm forms the aesthetic foundation here. The production pulsates with warm pads, crisp Eurodance hooks and that characteristic melodic drive that instantly conjures up images of sunsets over festival fields. Rogue FX complements the sound with a question that is as simple as it is radical: Why can’t we live together? The song deliberately places itself within the lineage of that musical tradition in which peace, solidarity and social openness became central themes. It recalls that period in the 80s and 90s when clubs and dancefloors were seen as social spaces — places where people from all walks of life came together and, for a moment, experienced what community can feel like. Whilst the sound looks back nostalgically, the message is firmly rooted in the present: less hate, more unity. The result is an uplifting, hopeful track that shows that — despite all our differences — there is more that unites us than divides us.
