As Afro-house beats pulse beneath the surface and dark layers of synth spread out like a second breath, a space opens up in which every syllable carries more weight than it sounds. SHAB’s voice, sharply defined yet permeable, carries a strength that makes no secret of itself and a vulnerability that makes no apologies. Preston Harris provides a warm counterpoint, almost like a quiet breath amidst the tension that neither of them can name, yet can no longer push aside. The result is an emotional drift of closeness, withdrawal and everything that remains between the lines. And when the track lights up in the club and continues to smoulder in the afterglow, you sense that a decision has long since been made – it just hasn’t been spoken yet.

Folle de penser – Ultra Violette

Ultra Violette presents a track that balances her characteristic tension between lightness and inner pressure with even greater finesse. The production follows a clear synth-pop line, whilst director Jérémy Cornellier shifts the imagery slightly, almost into the surreal, without losing the emotional core. Musically, there’s a sense of urgency à la Robyn, carried by a hypnotic pulse reminiscent of the Pet Shop Boys. The lyrics, honed in collaboration with Jérôme 50, revolve around a woman teetering between foreboding, self-doubt and a longing for peace. The fear of being at the mercy of one’s own thoughts clashes with the will to carry on despite inner turmoil. Ultra Violette transforms this inner conflict into a pop moment that feels both vulnerable and resolute.

Zerbricht – Rika Bender

„Zerbricht“ setzt genau dort an, wo innere Spannungen nicht mehr zu halten sind. Rika Bender formt ihren New‑Wave/Postpunk‑Entwurf aus treibenden Basslinien, die wie ein hartnäckiger Puls wirken, und melodischen Gitarrenflächen, die sich kühl über die Szenerie legen. Die Atmosphäre bleibt düster‑urban, als würde der Song durch nächtliche Straßen hallen. Inhaltlich erzählt er vom Einsturz falscher Autorität und dem Moment, in dem man die eigene Stimme wiederfindet — nicht als heroische Geste, sondern als notwendige Konsequenz. Bender kanalisiert Wut in Klarheit, lässt den Bruch nicht zerstörerisch, sondern befreiend wirken. „Zerbricht“ markiert keinen Abschluss, sondern den Moment, in dem etwas in Bewegung gerät und die Richtung sich unaufhaltsam verschiebt.
